New to brushing your dog's teeth?
Don't worry, with a little patience and the right toothpaste, most dogs warm up to it faster than you'd think!
Watch the quick demo, then follow the three steps below.
Step 1
Set Up
Give your toothbrush a quick rinse with water before getting started. Find a comfortable position for both you and your pup - somewhere you can easily reach their mouth without either of you feeling stressed. Apply 1 to 2 pumps of Arca Lab Dog Toothpaste onto the toothbrush and you're ready to go!
Step 2
Brush
First time brushing? Take it slow! Let your dog sniff the toothbrush and lick the toothpaste first. This helps them get familiar with the taste and feel before anything goes near their teeth.
Once they're comfortable, gently lift the lip and begin brushing in small, circular motions along the outside and inside of the teeth. Pay extra attention to the gum line where plaque and tartar love to build up.
Don't worry if it's not perfect at first. Consistency is far more important than technique when you're starting out. Aim to brush daily to maintain good oral hygiene and prevent tartar buildup.
Step 3
Celebrate
Once you're done, offer your pup some fresh water to drink. Most importantly, celebrate! Lots of praise, a pat, or their favourite Dog dental treat goes a long way in making brush time a positive experience they'll actually look forward to next time.
